California Series Custom Congas and Bongos are born from a combination of time-honored tradition and modern day innovation. Inspired by the original Gon Bops shape and the legendary sound they were famous for, the new generation of California Series drums are meticulously crafted from select quarter-sawn solid stave North American Red Oak, one at a time. Combine that with high-grade, individually fitted skins, newly designed Contour hardware and an extensive palette of custom color options, and it’s easy to understand why world-famous players like Alex Acuña are singing their praises.

California Series Bongos. Designed with a custom beveled bearing edge and head combinations. Horse Hide is used on the 7" Macho, Cow Hide on the 8.5" Hembra.

Available in 13”/14” or 14”/15” brass alloy shells, Gon Bops California Series timbales were designed with the pro player in mind. Shells were intentionally left smooth for easier “cascara” while the thick steel counter hoops with recessed carriage bolts were designed to provide an unobstructed playing surface. A new low-profile side plate securely houses the heavy-gauge tuning rods and Remo USA Smooth White heads capture that traditional timbale sound.

Included is the newly-engineered 9600 DW timbale stand that features mega-tripod base, heavy-gauge tubing, Push-Lock™ mounting system and cowbell mount with toothless adjustment and TechLock®.
