Damon has been an official member of the Bentleys team since 2010. Damon currently plays Mapex, Ludwig, (and soon) Odery drums and uses Sabian and Supernatural cymbals. Damon is always available and looking to be a part of new musical projects. Damon plans on going pro within weeks from now.

Jeff Bergen

Jeff grew up in Clovis, California. He started playing the drums at the age of 7, and started his first band Lyric in 1980. In 1986, he started playing with the band Fanatiks, and in 2015 he formed the band 3rd Rock. He currently plays in both. Jeff plays Tama/DW/Crush drum with Zildjian and Sabian cymbals. His favorite band is KISS and favorite drummer is Neil Peart.


Chris Millar

Instructor / Blues Guy / Russian Enthusiest / Entrepreneur

Chris has been playing the drums since 1965 and has been a professional musician most of his life. He has had a lifetime of musical experience and has performed with jazz ensembles, rock bands, blues and soul bands, and symphony orchestras in addition to numerous studio dates. Chris has also toured throughout the US and has 23 European tours under his belt. Chris has been teaching for 28 years and has been at Bentley's for 19 years.

Donny Marvin


Donny started playing drums and percussion in 1978 at Clovis High School where he was eventually awarded Drummer of the Year in 1982. He then went on to march as a DCI snare drummer with Valley Fever and The Dons from 1982 – 1985, he also taught the Clovis High Drumline in 1983 and 1984. After aging out of DCI in 1985 he went on to play with MANY bands from the Fresno area, playing rock, punk, blues, soul, etc. for over twenty years. During this time he also gave private drum lessons to a select few. In 2011 he started Valley Thunder Drumline where he is currently the director of the Senior and youth drumlines. His favorite drummer right now is Ray Luzier.


Aaron Wall

Aaron has been playing drums and latin percussion for over 15 years and has been teaching for 12 years. He played percussion in the Warner-Brothers movie "Torque" (2004). In 2003 he co-wrote the main title song for the Warner Brothers film "The Adventures of Pluto Nash", starring Eddie Murphy. He also composed / performed an original score for the film "The Next Grand Scheme" (2004). Aaron has played in jazz / salsa groups at Fresno State and Fresno City College. He is currently band leader of the group 40 Watt Hype.

John Martin


John started playing drum set at the age of 12 and playing private parties by 14. He started out playing drum set in the jazz group at school and later gravitated towards percussion and hand percussion. John graduated from Roosevelt School Of The Arts and received a BA in Percussion Performance in Jazz Studies at Eastern Illinois University. He continued his studies at Fresno State under Matt Darling for his masters. John has played in a wide range of musical settings from the symphony to salsa dance bands, from klezmer groups to flamenco ensembles. He teaches hand percussion from Cuba, Brazil, the Middle East and Spain. His drum set background is in jazz and funk and world music styles. John also plays jazz vibes and classical marimba. One of his favorite drummers is Manu Katche.

 Jim Chaffin


Born in Madera, Jim began playing at the age of 12. In high school, he joined with some friends and formed the influential Christian punk/thrash group The Crucified. Jim has extensive recording and live performance experience since the early 90's with groups such as The Blamed, Left Out, Final Threat, Uthanda, Fasedown, Deliverance, Once Dead, Living Sacrifice, Mortal, The Prayer Chain, Grave Robber, and Michael Knott. He currently plays with local cover groups Sarge Loda and Hired Gun; as well as in his church's worship band. Punk, Metal, Thrash, Rock, Worship or Country, Jim has played it and lived it.

Paul Flores

Since the age of 9, Paul has been playing drums and percussion. His influences include John "Bonzo" Bonham, Alex Van Halen, Mitch Mitchell, Troy Lucketta, Todd Sucherman, Will Calhoun, Sheila E., Billy Cobham and Danny Carey. Throughout his years, he has played in many numerous original, cover, & tribute bands, but his main passion is teaching drums. Paul plays Ludwig Drums, Paiste Cymbals, DW Hardware, and Vater Drumsticks. Born in Fresno, raised in Lindsay and just recently moved back to the Central Valley.

Roman Rivera

Roman, inspired by his Father and Uncle who play drums, started playing at the age of 8. He found his passion for marching percussion in 6th grade, which he has been focusing on for 8 years now. He played percussion in the Buchanan High wind ensemble, Drum set in the jazz band, and was section leader of the Buchanan High drum line. He went further by taking two Drum Corps International tours playing snare drum with Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets. He graduated from Buchanan High in 2016, and was hired back after to teach the drum line. He has also taught Valley Thunder Youth Drum line along side Donny Marvin for 3 years, and has composed many pieces of battery percussion music of all skill levels. He uses Pearl and Yamaha Marching drums, Remo Heads, and Innovative Percussion Drumsticks.

Donald Johnson

Store Helper / Funky Drummer

Donald has been coming to the shop since he was 3 years old and finally picked up the sticks at 5. He has been a member of the Bentley's Drum Shop family since early 2010. He uses PDP drums and hardware and Zildjian Cymbals. His favorite drummer is Thomas Pridgen, and outside of drums he also plays piano.


Mark Temple

King of All Social Media for Bentley's Drum Shop. Mark has been a part of the Bentley's Drum Shop folklore since 1995. He volunteers his time to the store to help whenever he can. He was Postal Demolition Derby 2005 Champ. Currently, he plays, practices, and rehearses as much as possible so he can become more than the "Norm" of the store.
